External Hard Drive Repairs

Village Internet is delighted to be able to provide a fast turnaround service to repair your external hard drive. More often than not, whenever an external hard drive becomes faulty, the problem may not actually lie with the hard disk drive itself. Instead the fault could be in any power boards or equally in the circuitry where data conversion takes place. Remember that a hard drive will usually have a separate PCB that converts the data interface from USB to either IDE or SATA. The message though is that in our opinion, external hard drives have a greater potential for successful fixing than an internal hard drive in a PC or laptpop.

External Hard Drive Data Recovery 

If however, the hard drive itself or its contents are faulty or compromised in any way, we can if required look to see whether we can recover any data files. 

Disk Cleaning

If for any reason Village Internet is unable to repair the external hard drive, we would recommend using Village Internet's Disk Cleaning Service. Dependent on the fault, this will remove or overwrite data on the hard disk to prevent it being extracted by an unauthorised third-party. In the event of a serious failure of the hard disk or interface circuitry that makes this impossible or uneconomic to carry out, we will of course take appropriate action to ensure the disk platter is physically removed fom the casing and disabled.
