Accommodation for the 2012 Royal International Air Tattoo

The Royal International Air Tattoo takes place once again at RAF Fairford on 7th-8th July 2012, and we look forward to welcoming visitors from all over the UK and further afield. Enthusiasts will often attend not only both display days but also the preceding practice days, as well as the arrival and departure of the display aircraft. So for those staying in the area, it begs the question as to where will you be resting your sleepy head after the day long, tinnitus-inducing roar of those jet engines?

Accommodation

If you're looking to stay for the whole weekend, possibly longer, and camping is your bag, there are are a number of campsites in the area to choose from. Temporary campsites are available in and around Fairford for the duration of the airshow. Some even offer the opportunity to view the display from outside of the base, and all are within easy access of the event. And if course there is B&B accommodation, although this does tend to get booked up well in advance.

Check out Castle Eaton

If you're looking for a suggestion as to where to stay, then why not check out Castle Eaton. A pretty Cotswold-stone village just to the south of RAF Fairford, it's home to the Red Lion pub, reputed to be the first pub on the River Thames as it flows fromthe source towards London. It has great food, beer and will often put on entertainment over the Air Tattoo weekend.

Castle Eaton has a small number of accommodation options which may be just be what you're looking for to enhance the enjoyment of your Air Tattoo weekend.
